• Day 1 We invite you for a unique and delicious experience in Porto.

  Welcome to Portugal. Wine Tourism in Portugal will invite you to discover the amazing city of Porto.

  After airport formalities at Porto International Airport (OPO), you will be collected outside customs, and transferred, by deluxe vehicle Mercedes with English-speaking Chauffeur to the Hotel.

  Check-in at Le Monumental Palace. You discovered your Portuguese address, historically luxurious and predestined to remarkable travelers. You will discover that this luxury hotel in the heart of Porto, does not have monumental only as a name.   Meet the certified private Guide at the hotel lobby, he will show you the highlights of the city of Porto in a Drive/Walking Tour, starting in the historic center we will take you to the Clérigos Tower, designed and decorated by the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, located near Lello Bookstore, considered by Lonely Planet one of the three most beautiful bookstores in the world. Across Aliados Avenue, you will find São Bento Railway Station, where you can observe its twenty thousand painted tiles, depicting historical landmarks.   The Majestic Café. The most stunning of all cafés in the nation and one of the most attractive in the world. It continues to live up to its name with a wonderful Belle Époque atmosphere in its main room and attractive winter garden which have guaranteed it a spot in every café-themed coffee table book. You will enjoy a Wine Tourism in Portugal offer, an afternoon tea, with a delicious “Rabanada à Majestic”. After tea, enjoy one of the most beautiful views over the Douro River from Porto Cathedral. Originally built in the 12th century, Porto Cathedral still has the original merlons and twin towers, although the towers are now topped by 18th century additions Then, you will visit the Stock Exchange Palace of Porto “Palácio da Bolsa”, the building with the most different architectural styles in Porto. Last but not least, a visit to the Church of Saint Francis that is the most prominent Gothic monument in Porto, being also noted for its outstanding Baroque inner decoration.   Then, you will visit the House of the Filigree. Located in a prime area of downtown Porto in a historic building of great beauty from the 19th century, the House of Filigree was conceived by Pedro and Luísa Rosas. Their passion for delicate and carefully crafted jewelry runs in the family: they are the children of the founder of the fine Jewelry and Timepieces company bearing his name, and are the fifth generation of a family connected to Goldsmith since the middle of the 19th century. Two of Pedro’s and Luísa Rosas’ great-grandparents were the founders of two of the most notable houses dedicated to the art of filigree in Portugal, so the current generation feels an obligation towards the preservation of this millennial art. You will visit the Museum where you can find a unique collection of pieces in Portuguese filigree. On the exhibition route, there is an Atelier, a space where artisans - and not machines - are keeping the art alive. At the end, the visitor will be able to visit the museum's gift shop and get to know all the products proudly produced in Portugal by artisans and workshops of excellence and Boutique, where you can find pieces of high jewelry in filigree, under the creative direction of Luísa Rosas.

  Dinner will be served at Le Monument Restaurant. Discover the talent and excellence of starred Chef Julien Montbabut’s cuisine at the gourmet restaurant Le Monument, in the heart of Porto. Local products are in the spotlight, while keeping the spirit of French cuisine. Behind the scenes, the brigade is composed of about twenty talented people supervised by Julien Montbabut will delight you. A unique gourmet restaurant in Porto that invites each guest to discover the richness of the Portuguese culinary heritage, enhanced by the excellence of the French savoir-faire of a starred chef. As for desserts, Pastry Chef Joana Thöny-Montbabut plays the opulent card with gourmet and festive creations!

• Day 2 Understand the unique and renowned Port Wine.

  The wine lodges that line the riverbank in Vila Nova de Gaia are home to the great ambassador of Portugal: Port Wine. Here it is left to age before being sent to all corners of the world, bringing great pleasure to all those who drink it. On this day, we want you to discover some of the finest.

  Real Companhia Velha played an important role in the regulation, production, and trade of Port Wine, so we can say, conclusively, that the Company’s history is the history of Port Wine. Founded in 1756 by a Royal Charter of King José I, King of Portugal, under the auspices of his Prime Minister the Marquis of Pombal, the Real Companhia Velha, also known as Royal Oporto Wine Company, is the oldest Port Wine Company of Portugal. The centennial basements of Real Companhia Velha, located in Vila Nova de Gaia facing Porto carefully store a wide selection of Port Tawny wines – aged in oak barrels – as well as Vintage Port, keeping this way the prestige and reputation that this company enjoys for over 250 years. In the cellars and in the silence of their warehouses, Port wine rests in barrels of noble wood. Sleeping there, in a unique peace, the barrels and vats seem like they are lost in time. 10, 20, 30. You will have a Private tour to the centenary cellars of the Real Companhia Velha which begins with a video showing all the process of the art of making Port, since its birth in the vineyards of the Douro to its aging, bottling, and shipping in Vila Nova de Gaia. The private tour follows through the main aging cellar, with a stop at the “Vintage Museum” and finishing at our Wine shop with a tasting of 4 Ports: Sweet or Dry White Port and the 10, 20 and 40-year-old Tawnies. Maturated Cheeses are served with the tasting.

  Lunch will be served at Barão de Fladgate Restaurant. Barão Fladgate Restaurant enjoys a spectacular location and atmospheric setting in the grounds of Taylor’s Port cellars with magnificent views across the Douro River to the old historic center of Porto. It offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional cuisine where the accent is on fresh local ingredients and on showcasing the authentic flavors of Portugal. Named after John Fladgate, the celebrated 19th century Port shipper and partner of Taylor’s who was awarded the title of Baron for his services to viticulture, the Barão Fladgate restaurant celebrates 20 years of inspiring fine cuisine and excellent service.

  After lunch, you will discover Taylor’s Cellars. For many, Taylor’s is Porto’s most illustrious wine producing house and drinking its wines is the most sublime experience. Created in 1692, this is one of the oldest houses still maintaining its family character and dedicating itself exclusively to the production of Port wines, especially, to its best styles. The wine cellars of Porto Taylor’s are located in the heart of the historical center of Vila Nova de Gaia, in a privileged location, with magnificent views over the city of Porto and the river Douro. A visit to Taylor’s cellars is an absorbing and enriching experience that provides a unique journey into the fascinating world of Port wine. You will have a VINTAGE MASTER CLASS – Designed by experienced professionals and aimed at connoisseurs who want to learn more about the Vintage style. Includes a visit to the cellars and a class that deepens the knowledge about the production and characteristics of Taylor’s Vintage Ports.

  Nearby you will find WOW - World of Wine. Vila Nova de Gaia is a city with a wow factor, WOW pays homage to the region, and shines a light on the most important Portuguese industries and traditions, an entire district full of new and exciting things to do, explore, and learn. You will visit the Planet Cork Museum or the Chocolate Story Museum, you chose. If you decided the first you will discover the fascinating world of cork, Portugal is by far the world's largest cork producing country. Explaining and demonstrating how this natural product has changed our lives for the better, Planet Cork brings to life the incredible world of cork, from the ancient exploration of the cork oak to the most varied and avant-garde applications. At the Chocolate Story Museum, you will have an immersive experience from the world of cacao to the world of chocolate. Embark on a journey across the extraordinary world of chocolate, to find out where it comes from and how it is made.

  Dinner is waiting for you at Casa de Chá Restaurant. Boa Nova Tea House is much more than a 2 Michelin Star restaurant. Those who visit it immediately perceive the immense horizon through the impressive windows, maximizing all the moment expectations. Chef Rui Paula surprises customers with his audacity, taking them to the next level of gastronomic experiences, through a symbiotic vision where he really shows his inner self. You can, perhaps, visit the kitchen, open a window, dip your toes in the sand and seawater nearby, or just have a good chat with the Chef. Trust on the originality of the suggestions, with a special highlight on the freshest fish and seafood, our Menu stars. Here, eyes upon the sea, all the senses are awake.

• Day 3 Wander the amazing coastline and cruise in Douro river.

  Breakfast at the Hotel followed by Check-out.

  You will enjoy an Exclusive charming Boat cruise starting from Douro Marina. Situated in Douro Marina, Feeldouro has a privileged localization in Foz do Douro. This is one of the starting points for a cruise on the Douro, with 210 navigable km and considered by many as one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe! Discover the mythic city of Porto, its old town by the river, bridges and historic landscapes. A drink will be served, so you can enjoy even more of this cruise!

  Then, you are very lucky to witness one of the most beautiful sceneries, while driving to Foz do Douro, alongside the imposing Douro River. Discover the Foz do Douro where the River Douro meets the Atlantic Ocean. Out west, Foz do Douro dances to its own relaxed beat, with beach bars humming with bronzed locals, large mansions, lighthouses commanding big ocean views, botanical gardens for strolling, and some amazing restaurants. Wander the incredible coastline to the backbeat of the Atlantic and relax in one of the many benches on the promenade.

  Lunch will be served at Cafeína Restaurant. A gastronomy reference and the most cosmopolite side of Porto city. Cafeína was the first big project of Vasco Mourão in the restoration. Celebrating 25 years, the restaurant always stands out for its unique and timeless concept, where an honest, French and Portuguese kitchen has always allied to a comfort and sophistication environment.

  Your last experience in Porto will be at Katty’s Xiomara Atelier. Born in Venezuela, within a Portuguese family, Katty Xiomara moved to Portugal at the age of 18, settling in Porto. She fills the fashion week calendar in Portugal since 1998. Her name treads the catwalks of Paris on several occasions and participates regularly in international trade shows. The corporate image was recognized and awarded by the American Magazine HOW and her work has been published in many international editions. We are excited about our new Fashion Design Experience in which we share experiences and techniques based on the Eco-Design approach that allowed us to progressively become eco-sustainable. Accompanied by the fashion Designer, you will have an inside look about the brand’s philosophy with a framework that will enable the participants to consciously value an alternative design to their fashion choices. At the end of the session it will be offered a small accessory piece.
